Mira is a child with an understanding and wisdom beyond her years. She is deeply saddened by her pets death and seeks a way to put him to rest quietly and respectfully.

After Mira is faced with the death of her pet fish Skippy, she only finds it fit that he receives a proper buriel. However, her plans become thwarted by obstacles in her home.

Mira experiences her first interaction with death through the timely loss of her beloved fish Skippy. Mira posseses an understanding beyond her years and deems it necessary to bury Skippy in a proper and respectful fashion, only she does not know how to exactly do this. Mira’s mother serves to be no help, as she only sees her daughter as a child, and would rather shield her from the world than inform her about it. In turn, Mira must conquer obstacles in order to finally put her fish friend to rest.
