Personal Safety Tips

SlateCast.com is a social networking site. It is designed to assist individuals to collaborate on film projects. As a result, our members get an opportunity to reach out and engage each other.

SlateCast.com is a public site and allows free access to anyone. Although we take personal safety of our members very seriously we DO NOT have an ability to verify true identity of each individual member. Therefore, we urge you to execrcise the same precautions online as you would offline. Please read carefully our Personal Safety Tips below.

If you have established a contact with another SlateCast.com member which requires the next step -- meeting in person for the first time, please remember to:

  • Plan to meet in a very public place, such as a coffee shop or restaurant. We do not recommend going to someone's home for your first meeting.

  • Tell a friend or family member when and where you are going and when you are expecting to be back.

  • Consider having a friend or family member accompany you. This rule is a must when the meeting involves a minor.

  • Bring your cell phone along if you have one.

  • Please exercise common sense and always trust your instincts.
