This is a short silent film (final cut estimated to be 6-10 minutes) that will be shot on 16mm. It is a very stylized film focusing on a lonely magician and a dream he manifests.
This is a final project for a cinematography class that we plan to submit into film festivals next year. Therefore, we are taking this project very seriously and are hoping to get actors who are serious and looking to add to their reel. We do not have the funds to pay. However, you will be fed, and you will receive a copy of the finished project.
We will be shooting at three different locations including a park, a bathroom, and a soundstage.
Auditions (more of a meeting) will be held Saturday 11/26/11 starting at noon. Depending on the the number of responses, I may not be able to get back to everyone, and will get back to those I can no later than Friday 11/25/11 by 3pm.
Lead male role: Looking for a male any age from 28-38. A lonely magician who tries to conjure love, only to fall asleep in his bathtub and have a very surreal dream. Partial nudity will be the buttocks getting into the bathtub and you will be the only actor. I'm looking for someone who has subtle yet defining facial expression since this film will have no dialogue. The shoot dates for this will be all three days.
Lead female role: Looking for a female any age from 25-37. A woman with dark hair that is past shoulder length is preferable. If you own a red dress, that is a plus! Shoot dates for this will be 11/29 and 12/3.
I will need six additional actors: Three males, and three females. This will be part of the first third of the film. Your character will be watching the magician perform tricks, and you will have small bits to perform. The shoot date for this is 12/3.
Please include a resume, or just briefly mention some things you have worked on, and attach a photo and/or a link to your demo reel. Also, please let me know if Tuesday or Saturday would work best for you to meet with me if not both..
If you are planning on auditioning for the two main characters, please let me know if you will settle for a roll of one of the 6 additional actors.
